Transfer and Encoding

DVD is where it’s at… In fact, at the consumer level, 85% of all home video spending is on DVD and you can expect the percentages to rise to nearly every home by the close of the 2005 calendar year.

DVD is expected to be in almost every home and office to increase productivity and enjoyment.

There is no comparison between how DVD video looks when compared to VHS tape.  DVD's last longer and is less expensive to manufacture.  Their care is minimal and storage can be virtually non-existent.

DVD’s offer the same kind of interactive on-screen menus as a Hollywood movie, which viewers are used to.

DVD is a dynamic delivery method that makes your video more effective; whether it is for Training, Marketing Communications, etc.

Jackson’s Video Productions is currently offering 4 different DVD authoring packages, for clients that have already produced a program and just need to put it onto disc.

If your needs require greater customization than these packages, give us a call.  We've been doing DVD's since their inception.

Encoding is the process of converting video content into a format suitable for Internet viewing. Encoding involves editing and then compressing video to deliver smoothly over a connection of a particular bandwidth (e.g., 56, 100,or 300 Kb/s). You can encode content for streaming, download or digital transport.

Encoding is an art. It demands balance; the ability to compress files to bit rates for delivery over the Internet, while maintaining acceptable viewing or audio quality of the content. We offer video and audio encoding in the following industry standard media player formats;

  • Windows Media Player™
  • RealPlayer™
  • QuickTime™
  • Macromedia Flash™ video
  • AVI or MPEG

In addition to deciding on the format you want your video encoded in, you will also need to determine whether you want to offer one or two different bitrate versions. In other words, do you want your video accessible via a 56k dial-up bit rate version for low speed users, a 300k high speed bit rate version for high speed users, or both.

Have your home videos transferred to DVD, before it's too late! Over a number of years, VHS tapes will deteriorate and lose their color and sound quality. It is important to get them transferred to DVD, before your memories are lost forever.
